Breaking: EVERTON SIGN HIGHLY-RATED INTERNATIONAL FORWARD…

Everton have brought in Australian forward Holly McNamara, fending off interest from numerous leading clubs in Europe and America to land the two-time A-League Golden Boot winner.

The 23-year-old arrives on a free transfer after leaving Melbourne City, marking Everton Women’s fifth summer addition alongside forwards Noémie Mouchon and Hannah Cain, attacker Zara Kramžar, and defender Hannah Blundell.

McNamara’s résumé is already strong — she was A-League Women’s Young Player of the Year in 2022 and led the league’s scoring charts in both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.

She’ll wear Everton’s No.9 shirt, and also helped Australia to a silver medal at the 2026 Asia Cup, playing alongside Clare Wheeler, who is now her club teammate too.

In explaining her move, McNamara pointed to Everton’s blend of tradition and ambition, plus the opportunity to compete in the Women’s Super League under manager Scott Phelan at Goodison Park, as the deciding factors over other suitors.
