JUST NOW: Rangers FC Head Coach Derek McInnes Reportedly Suspended After Positive Test — See More

A dramatic claim circulating online has suggested that Rangers FC head coach Derek McInnes has been suspended from football after allegedly testing positive for an unspecified substance.

However, there is currently no credible confirmation from Rangers FC, the Scottish FA, UEFA, or other reliable football authorities that McInnes has failed a test or been suspended for such a reason.

McInnes remains Rangers’ head coach, having been appointed on a three-year contract in June 2026. Recent reports also show him leading Rangers to an impressive 3–0 victory over Celtic in the Scottish League Cup on September 13.

The Rangers manager has previously faced a separate disciplinary suspension related to comments about refereeing, but that is unrelated to any positive drug test.

Fans are therefore advised to wait for an official statement before believing claims that McInnes has been suspended for testing positive for a substance.
