THIS IS THE BEST NEWS WE COULD HOPE FOR: Newcastle United and EPL community are overjoyed as Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle makes announcement of making Forward Anthony Elanga Love the new…..see more

Newcastle United supporters have plenty of reason to be excited about the development of Anthony Elanga under head coach Matthias Jaissle, with the Swedish forward emerging as an important part of the Magpies’ attacking plans.

Elanga joined Newcastle from Nottingham Forest in July 2025 on a long-term deal after an impressive campaign at the City Ground, where he recorded six goals and 11 assists in the Premier League.

Since arriving at St. James’ Park, the pacey forward has continued to attract attention with his ability to stretch opposition defences and contribute in attacking transitions. Newcastle’s official profile lists him as a forward, while his performances have made him an increasingly significant option for Jaissle.

The 2026/27 campaign has already provided evidence of Elanga’s importance. He scored in Newcastle’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, while reports noted that he had scored twice during the opening stages of the Premier League season.

However, the latest news surrounding the player is unfortunately related to injury. Elanga was absent from Newcastle’s squad for the 4-1 defeat against Leeds United, and Jaissle has subsequently faced concerns over the severity of the problem.

That makes his eventual return particularly important for Newcastle. With the Magpies facing a demanding schedule, having an explosive winger capable of creating chances and attacking space could provide another option for Jaissle’s tactical plans.

Elanga has been given a new formal title and his performances have already demonstrated why the club considers him an important part of its squad.

Newcastle supporters will therefore be watching closely for further updates on Elanga’s recovery and his eventual return to the pitch.
