Crystal Palace have been at the centre of growing speculation surrounding head coach Pierre Sage following a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign.Reports last week claimed that Sage was under increasing pressure at Selhurst Park amid concerns surrounding results, squad management and disagreements over his training methods. Football Insider reported that some Palace players had expressed dissatisfaction with aspects of the manager’s approach.
Palace’s results have added to the pressure. The club suffered a dramatic 3–2 defeat against Ipswich Town on September 12, conceding a late winner despite twice recovering from a deficit.
However, the latest available evidence does not confirm that Sage has officially stepped down. The Premier League listed him as Crystal Palace’s manager for the 2026/27 season, and Palace’s official website announced his appointment in June.
Sage has also recently overseen a 4–0 Europa League victory against Lech Poznan, while a goalless draw with Leeds United produced Palace’s first Premier League clean sheet of the season.
