West Ham United supporters could be left stunned by a dramatic development surrounding captain Jarrod Bowen, with a sensational report claiming that the England international has submitted a resignation letter to the club.Bowen remains one of West Ham’s most prominent players and is officially listed as the club’s captain. His current 2026/27 statistics show four goals and three assists in eight appearances, highlighting his importance to the team.
The reported resignation has therefore sparked huge speculation among supporters, with questions being raised about what could have pushed the Hammers captain toward such a decision. However, there is currently no verified West Ham announcement confirming that Bowen has submitted a resignation letter.
There is also an important correction to the headline: Stephy Mavididi is not currently a West Ham player. Leicester City confirmed on 1 September 2026 that Mavididi joined Watford on loan for the 2026/27 season.
For now, West Ham fans will have to wait for an official statement before treating the resignation story as confirmed news.
