Through 127 games, he has recorded 18 home runs and 66 RBIs while batting .208. That represents a significant drop from his 2025 production, when he hit .256 with 16 home runs and 84 RBIs over 157 games.
The outfielder has also struggled at the plate recently, entering Sunday without a hit in his previous two games.
With the Red Sox facing the Yankees in an important series finale, Duran will have another opportunity to make an impact and help Boston close out the weekend with a victory.
His return to the starting lineup could give the Red Sox another experienced bat as they look to respond against their longtime rivals.
