Red Sox Make Major Jarren Duran Lineup Decision Ahead of Yankees Finale

The Boston Red Sox have made an important lineup adjustment ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the New York Yankees, with outfielder Jarren Duran returning to the starting lineup.

Boston enters the final game of the series looking to avoid dropping another game to New York after losing two of the first three contests.

Duran did not start in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, but the Red Sox have now decided to put him back in the lineup for Sunday’s matchup.

The former All-Star will bat seventh and start in left field as Boston looks to finish the series on a positive note.

Duran Looking to Break Out of Slump

Duran has experienced a difficult 2026 season compared with his previous campaign.

Through 127 games, he has recorded 18 home runs and 66 RBIs while batting .208. That represents a significant drop from his 2025 production, when he hit .256 with 16 home runs and 84 RBIs over 157 games.

The outfielder has also struggled at the plate recently, entering Sunday without a hit in his previous two games.

With the Red Sox facing the Yankees in an important series finale, Duran will have another opportunity to make an impact and help Boston close out the weekend with a victory.

His return to the starting lineup could give the Red Sox another experienced bat as they look to respond against their longtime rivals.
