Celtic FC supporters would be heartbroken at the thought of losing their captain and midfield leader, Callum McGregor, whose commitment and leadership have made him one of the club’s most important figures.

However, reports claiming that McGregor has officially announced his departure from Celtic FC have not been confirmed by the available sources.

Why Are Fans Worried About Callum McGregor’s Future?

McGregor’s future has attracted attention amid speculation about his long-term plans and the club’s ambitions. Earlier reports linked him with a possible move to Saudi Arabia, but the Celtic captain has repeatedly expressed his desire to remain at the club.

In July 2026, McGregor reiterated that Celtic was where he wanted to play and spoke about his determination to help the team succeed. His comments offered reassurance to supporters concerned about his future.

A Leader Celtic Fans Value

For many Celtic supporters, McGregor represents more than just a midfielder. His experience, work rate and understanding of the club make him an influential presence in the dressing room.

Losing a player of his importance would raise questions about leadership, team stability and how Celtic would prepare for the future.

What Happens Next?

At present, there is no verified confirmation that McGregor has submitted a resignation letter or officially announced his departure from Celtic FC. Supporters should wait for an official statement from the club or the player before treating the story as fact.

For now, Celtic fans will hope their captain continues leading the team and helping the Hoops compete for major honours.
