GOOD BYE SAD NEWS? Celtic FC Superstar Jota Faces Questions About His Future — Here Is What Fans Need to Know
Celtic FC supporters have every reason to be interested in the future of Portuguese winger Jota, but has the club officially announced his departure?
Jota, whose full name is João Pedro Neves Filipe, is one of the players who has built a strong connection with Celtic supporters through his creativity, speed, and attacking ability.
The Portuguese winger returned to Celtic in January 2025 after spells with Al-Ittihad and Rennes. His return brought excitement to fans who remembered his impressive performances during his first spell at the Scottish club.
However, Jota has also faced significant challenges, including a serious knee injury in April 2025 that kept him away from football for an extended period.
In October 2026, recent reports and Celtic’s own coverage highlighted his return to action after a lengthy recovery. This makes claims that he has officially left Celtic particularly important to verify before sharing them as confirmed news.
Why would Jota leave Celtic?
At present, a new departure should not be attributed to a specific reason without confirmation from Celtic FC or the player himself. Possible reasons for a footballer’s departure can include transfer negotiations, playing opportunities, personal decisions, or contractual matters, but none should be presented as Jota’s actual reason without reliable evidence.
For now, Celtic supporters should wait for an official statement before drawing conclusions about the winger’s future.
Conclusion
Jota’s story at Celtic has included memorable performances, a major transfer away from the club, a return to Glasgow, and a difficult journey back from injury. Whatever happens next, his contribution to the club remains an important part of his career.
