The Atlanta Braves picked up one of their biggest wins in recent weeks Tuesday night, edging the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 at Truist Park. The victory snapped Los Angeles’ six-game winning streak and gave Atlanta an important boost after a difficult stretch.
But while the final score grabbed plenty of attention, Braves manager Walt Weiss’ postgame comments may have been just as significant.
Following the dramatic victory, Weiss was asked about what his team had shown him during its recent turnaround. His response offered a strong vote of confidence in the clubhouse and the players’ mentality.
“I never doubt the room in there. I never have,” Weiss said after the game. He went on to praise the group for its commitment to playing for one another and emphasized the unusual demands of a 162-game baseball season.

Weiss’ comments came at an important moment for Atlanta. The Braves entered the Dodgers series after enduring a challenging road trip, making Tuesday’s victory particularly valuable.

Atlanta jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Los Angeles fought back to tie the game. Ozzie Albies eventually delivered the decisive RBI single in the eighth inning, putting the Braves back in front.

The Braves still had to survive a tense ninth inning.
Shohei Ohtani opened the inning with a triple, immediately putting the tying run 90 feet away. Raisel Iglesias, however, managed to escape the danger. He struck out Freddie Freeman, got Mookie Betts to ground out, intentionally walked Max Muncy and then recorded the final out to secure his 28th save in 31 opportunities.
The victory improved Atlanta to 77-55 and prevented the Dodgers from extending their winning streak to seven games.
A Statement Win for Atlanta
For a Braves team trying to maintain its position in a competitive National League race, the victory was more than another mark in the win column.
Atlanta showed it could withstand a late Dodgers comeback, manufacture runs without relying on the long ball and close out a high-pressure game against one of baseball’s top teams.
Weiss’ postgame message made it clear that he remains firmly behind his players. With the Dodgers series continuing, the Braves will now have an opportunity to build on the momentum created by Tuesday’s dramatic win.
If Atlanta can carry that same resilience into the remainder of the series, Weiss’ confidence in his clubhouse could prove to be more than just postgame optimism.
