JUST NOW: West Ham United Striker Valentín Castellanos Reportedly Unhappy as Questions Grow Over His Future at the Club — See More
West Ham United striker Valentín “Taty” Castellanos is facing growing scrutiny over his performances as uncertainty continues to surround his future with the Hammers.
The Argentine forward joined West Ham from Lazio in January 2026 on a four-and-a-half-year contract, arriving with high expectations after impressing in Italian football. However, recent reports have raised questions about his contribution to the team following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.
Despite the growing speculation, there is no verified confirmation that Castellanos has submitted a resignation letter or officially refused to continue playing for West Ham United. Reports about his future should therefore be treated with caution.
What Is Happening Between Castellanos and West Ham?
Castellanos was brought to London to strengthen West Ham’s attacking options and help the club compete at the highest level. His experience in Major League Soccer, La Liga and Serie A made him an exciting signing for the supporters.
However, the club’s difficult circumstances have increased pressure on its attacking players. Reports published earlier in 2026 suggested that Castellanos could consider leaving if West Ham were relegated, as he would prefer to continue competing in top-flight football.
The situation has also raised questions about whether the striker will remain a central figure in the team’s plans for the remainder of the campaign.
Could Castellanos Leave the Hammers?
For now, supporters will have to wait for reliable updates from the club or the player’s representatives before drawing conclusions about his future.
A potential departure would be a significant development for West Ham, who need consistent performances from their forwards as they pursue their objectives in the Championship.
Whether Castellanos stays and fights for his place or eventually seeks a new challenge remains uncertain.
Final Thoughts
West Ham fans will be hoping the Argentine striker can rediscover his scoring form and help the club return to the Premier League. Until an official announcement is made, claims that he has submitted a resignation letter or refused to continue playing should not be presented as confirmed facts.
