SHOCKING ANNOUNCEMENT: Just Now Celtic FC Midfielder Benjamin Nygren has been suspended from sport as he was tested positive of…. see more

A sensational claim circulating online has suggested that Celtic midfielder Benjamin Nygren has been suspended from football after allegedly testing positive for a prohibited substance.

However, there is currently verified announcement from Celtic FC, the SPFL, UEFA, and another recognised sporting authority confirming such a suspension and positive test.

Nygren remains listed as part of Celtic’s first-team squad on the club’s official website. Celtic’s official report from the club’s Europa League match against Ferencváros on September 17 also listed Nygren among the substitutes, with the midfielder entering the game during the second half.

The Swedish midfielder has been an important contributor for Celtic, including scoring in the club’s opening Premiership fixtures earlier in the 2026/27 campaign. SPFL records also document his goalscoring contributions for the champions.

If an official disciplinary case were opened, supporters would normally expect confirmation from the relevant governing body and details concerning the nature of the alleged violation and any disciplinary process.

For now, the claim should therefore be treated as verified rather than established fact. Celtic supporters will be watching for an official statement from the club or football authorities before drawing conclusions about Nygren’s status.
