The Atlanta Braves have revealed their starting-pitching plans for their upcoming three-game series against the New York Mets, with the National League East matchup set to begin Monday at Truist Park.
Atlanta enters the series with a 71-47 record and a strong 39-20 mark at home, while the Mets arrive at 52-67 and 27-33 on the road. The Braves will look to use their home-field advantage to keep their strong stretch of play going after recently dropping a series to the New York Yankees.
Bryce Elder Gets the Ball in Series Opener
The Braves will send Bryce Elder to the mound Monday night against Mets right-hander Christian Scott.
Elder has quietly put together a solid season for Atlanta, entering the matchup with an 8-6 record, a 3.69 ERA and 104 strikeouts. Scott, meanwhile, comes into the opener at 3-3 with a 3.15 ERA and 92 strikeouts.
The series opener is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET at Truist Park.

Martín Pérez Set for Tuesday
On Tuesday, Atlanta will turn to veteran left-hander Martín Pérez.

Tyler Mahle is scheduled to take the mound for Atlanta in Wednesday’s series finale.
Mahle enters the matchup with a 3-9 record, a 4.83 ERA and 98 strikeouts. He recently made his Braves debut and delivered what was described as a quality outing, giving Atlanta another reason for optimism heading into his next appearance.
Mahle will face Mets left-hander Zac Thornton, who enters Wednesday’s game with a 3-2 record, a 2.52 ERA and 27 strikeouts.
Braves Looking to Continue Strong Home Form
The pitching plans come at an important point in Atlanta’s season. The Braves have been one of the better teams in the National League and have built an impressive home record heading into the Mets series.
